Getting a book accepted by a publisher can be frustrating. You parcel up your typescript, send it off with high expectations, only to receive a rejection slip weeks, maybe months, later. So you repeat the process, again and again. Even if you are lucky enough finally have your book accepted, you may be asked to modify it to make it more 'commercially viable'. You may also have to wait a long time before you even see it in print.
